Who are we?

Collects, uses and is responsible for certain personal information about you. When we do so we are regulated under the General Data Protection Regulation which applies across the European Union (including in the United Kingdom) and we are responsible as ‘controller’ of that personal information for the purposes of those laws. Our Data Protection Officer is Mark Anderton .
The Personal Information we collect and use
We collect limited amount of data for the address and contact book and for gift aid purposes if applicable. The information we collect will be confined to:
• Name
• Address
• Telephone number
• Email address
• Whether you are a tax payer or not
We do not collect date of birth. Where members of the congregation may know each others birthdays, this will be as an informal arrangement and not requested or held by NLCC.
How we use your personal information
We only use your information to:
• Produce the address book, which is distributed to members only
• Gift Aid purposes – which is sent to HMRC to claim Gift Aid
• Provide church updates and notices
We rely on consent for all of your personal information and you may withdraw consent at any time.
How long do we keep your personal information?
We keep your personal information for 5 Years or until we no longer need it or you ask for it to be deleted. If you wish for your data to be deleted, please email mark@nlcc-medway.co.uk. We will not keep data that we do not need. If you wish not to receive church updates or notices, then please tell Mark in person or via email.
Your Rights
Under the GDPR you have rights which you can exercise free of charge which allow you to:
• Know what we are doing with your information and why we are doing it
• Ask to see what information we hold about you (Subject Access Requests)
• Ask us to correct any mistakes in the information we hold about you
• Object to direct marketing
• Make a complaint to the Information Commissioners Office
• Withdraw consent

Keeping your personal information secure
We have appropriate security measures in place to prevent personal information from being accidentally lost, or used or accessed in an unauthorised way. We limit access to your personal information to those who have a genuine business need to know it. Those processing
your information will do so only in an authorised manner and are subject to a duty of confidentiality.
