Connect Groups

connectgroup

The church is not a place, a name, a building, or a programme. The church is people. In the early church, Jesus’ disciples met intentionally from home to home, reading Scripture, breaking bread, praying together and celebrating life in Jesus. Together, they gave themselves fully to Jesus and His coming Kingdom. 2000 years later, we are committing ourselves to the same thing.

All throughout Scripture, we find “one another” commands given to those who follow Jesus. Things like love one another, forgive one another, celebrate one another and bear one another’s burdens.

Ultimately, following Jesus means sharing your life. In short, this simple phrase sums up why we have Connect Groups. We believe that it is impossible to live out the true vision of church only on a Sunday morning at a worship gathering. For this very reason Connect Groups exist to cultivate a family culture of friends who will love, encourage, celebrate and grow together.

Ephesians 4:15-16 (NLT) says 15 “Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. 16 He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.

As we gather in Jesus’ name, we believe every part of the body has a role and a function which in turn causes the whole body to become healthy, vibrant and full of love Everyone has a valuable part to play.

For those of you who feel ready to join one of our Connect Group families, go for it! Celebrate what Jesus is doing in your life. Feel free to visit a couple of Connect Groups before choosing one that works for you.
